Extra Innings Sets to Open the 5th Training Center in Massachusetts!

Baseball and softball players from Chicopee, MA will soon be able to swing away at the newest Extra Innings training center as owners Stephen Lebel and John Roy prepare to open the doors next month, in July 2016.

Both Steve and John were heavily involved in competitive sports since they were young children and it has always been an important part of their lives. They met in 1989 and have been best friends for more than 15 years. Their families continue to remain close by coaching, golfing, and vacationing together; now, they are just one step away from accomplishing a mutual lifelong dream. “We have always wanted to open up a business that was sports related, particularly baseball. The Extra Innings business model, along with the support and commitment from the corporate team, made us feel comfortable moving forward with a franchise.” – John Roy

Extra Innings Chicopee will feature over 12,000 sq.ft of space that offers a great location and free form structure ideal for baseball, softball and all other sports. Teams can take advantage of the entire floor space for practice, drills, and training. The indoor facility will include a well-stocked baseball and softball pro-shop with the latest equipment on the market. There will be six tunnels used for hitting, pitching, clinics, and lessons. Like every Extra Innings franchise, Chicopee will also have an area designated for birthday parties and team events.

Steve and John are both anxious for the business challenges ahead and can’t wait to bring the community together. Finally, there will be a place to provide qualified instructors to train and mentor players, teams, coaches, and parents throughout player’s developmental years. The new EI franchise owners had a few words to share with anyone looking to fulfill their business goals in the sporting industry.“Don’t get discouraged and continue to follow your dreams. Location and structure are very important when deciding where to put your facility and the EIFC corporate team lends their expertise when you need it. If you surround yourself with great friends and great people, the rest will fall into place.”
