Troy, OH - June 29, 2011 — Local business owner Todd Mowery of Extra Innings, a premier, state-of-the-art indoor baseball and softball training facility, was recently announced Rookie of the Year at the company’s national 2011 Team Meeting in Danvers, Mass. Mowery accepted the prestigious award on behalf of the entire Troy facility and co-owners Doug Evans and Paul Lavy. Rookie of the Year is presented to an owner with the best all-around performance after one full year of operation.“We’re honored to be recognized as Rookie of the Year and to be a part of this company,” said Mowery. “Extra Innings has provided us with a great opportunity to give back to the families and youth in our community and we hope to continue to make positive contributions to the area.”
As a former consultant for a Michigan-based firm, Mowery is no stranger to developing a successful business strategy. Despite the down economy and the shift in consumer spending trends, Extra Innings of Troy has grown their business over 44 percent in their second year, a remarkable feat for any small business owner. After seeing success with their first location, Mowery, Evans and Lavy are considering opening additional locations in areas such as Columbus or Cincinnati.
Established in 1996, Extra Innings provides state-of-the-art practice facilities, professional instruction and a nationally recognized Pro Shop to fulfill the needs of players of all ages and ability levels in a fun, family atmosphere. The Extra Innings Franchise Company was started in 2004 to franchise the unique and profitable business model throughout the United States. Extra Innings has 40 locations in 19 states in all regions of the country and projections call for close to 60 locations to be in operation by the end of 2012.
